Prompt engineering is more and more becoming a valuable developer skill. But most  developers just write prompts as unstructured blobs of text, often directly in the code. That works fine for quick tests, but can be a pain for real-world projects. The FML (Freeform Markup Language) Node SDK provides a better way to structure, reuse, and maintain prompts in Javascript, just like we do with code. Inspired by XML, FML introduces an easy to use tag-style syntax without the strict structure of XML.
In this talk we'll go into:
- What tag-style prompts are and why they’re important for prompt engineering
- How FML helps you organize prompts like source code
- How to build prompts using <include>, variables, and a clean structure

I am a tinkerer at heart, and my set up reflects that.

It is not a secret that being a developer is not always fun and that is often frustrating and often enough, these frustrations are caused by bad ergonomics around the developer environment.

We all know a couple of "chores" that we all hate doing yet we keep doing the same way every time and hate every second of it. But it doesn't have to be that way.I will go over some more "conceptual" topics or "philosophies" of usability, accessibility and customizability, and what each could mean.

My goal in this talk is to show developers that we can use our skills as developers and develop our own developer environment - we have a very unique job where our tools get sharper the more often we use them and I am would love to show every body how!
